What I’m Writing:
Most of my writing time continues to be taken up working with Koshin on his new book, which is great fun. I did find time to write a piece for Tricycle about the nature of cosmic bodhisattvas and an experiment with the Jungian practice of active imagination: Talking To The Bodhisattva Inside
What I’m Reading
How fast can animals evolve? Maybe faster than you think…..

One of the things I’ve written in the last few years that I like the most. This was published in 2019, but though some of the details have changed the over-all picture has not. It asks how to deal with finding oneself in the dark timeline, “a comic book trope where the writers take the characters through an alternative universe where dark, catastrophic possibilities can be explored. The trope eerily matches the growing feeling that we’ve somehow ended up in a different cosmos than the one I was born into.”
As Gandalf said to Frodo in a quote circulating the rounds a lot lately:
“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.
"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
